Meet N Greet

Thought I'd give you all a peek of a few gems in my week:

Meet Jack

After checking his homework, I look up to find this:

And then, while checking another student's homework I hear Jack say to me "Teacher! Look. I make 'H'" And I look up and find THIS:

Kids are wonderful. So creative, so daring and not afraid to do what comes to mind (this can be good and bad at times). He definitely brought a smile to my day!

Meet Liz

This is my little doll. She is so darling. She often wears her hair in pig tails and her outfits are always so cute. She's a great student and loves to come say hi to me before class.

It's hard to think about not seeing some of these kids in just a few short months.

Something I don't care to reminisce.

I came across this photo tonight as I was editing photos. This must have been a shot Steph took when I wasn't 'looking' (haha).

This was the day after my LASEK eye surgery. Oh, I definitely don't miss those horribly painful three days!

Went to the eye Doc today for a routine monthly checkup. I continue to have increased anxiety about the fact that my eyesight hasn't really improved much and everything is still blurry. The general time period for healing is about 4 weeks. It's been nearly 6.

The doctor took a look and assured me everything looks great and actually dug up some paperwork I've probably got around somewhere mentioning that it is possible for it to take up to three months.

Dr.'s orders? Steroid drops 2x/day and anti-inflammatory drops 4x/day.

... pictures of Japan coming soon. I promise!

Coming Soon

Pictures and an overview the journey to Fukuoka. It was so much more wonderful than I thought it would be. I'm excited to update, but have to wait to get some time to get my 700 pictures from the weekend organized.

Stay tuned.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Kristen who took the task of taking over my classes. And organizing my massive pile of blankets upstairs :)

In other news - I have another eye Dr. appointment today. I'm STILL not able to see at 20/20 vision yet after the surgery. I'm hoping they can tell me what's up.

And lastly, a quote that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I feel like it's been a slogan for my days lately. I'm been quite ambitious in a lot of areas and find it quite exhilarating.

Quote Shun idleness. It is the rust that attaches itself to the most brilliant metals."

Voltaire (1694–1778), French writer, essayist and philosopher

History Repeats Itself

It looks like I'm heading to Fukuoka, Japan this weekend for yet another Visa run.

Although I consider it extremely inconvenient timing, I'm going to look at it as a time of retreat, adventure and solitude.

I plan on doing a lot with my time for my duration in the beach city of Fukuoka this time and want to take time to be thankful for the (not so convenient) opportunity!

I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes.

Also - I just have to give a big shout of praise for the new church I've started attending. Jubilee here in Seoul. Gangnam to be exact. What a POWERFUL, convicting and stirring sermon we listened to yesterday.

There's not a day that goes by that I'm not just more and more stoked to be living in this city and experiencing life over on this side of the world.

God is GOOD!

XOXO
- J.
